Harbor Breeze offers many replacement parts for your ceiling fan.

Many times all that a Harbor Breeze Ceiling Fan needs is a simple replacement part to get it working as good as new again. If you become familiar with the various parts to your ceiling fan, repairs and alterations will become much easier. Listed below are five of the essential parts that make Harbor Breeze Ceiling Fans run smoothly.


The blades of your ceiling Harbor Breeze Ceiling Fan are the most identifiable part of your fan and are very easy to change.  Occasionally, a fan blade can break, and many times an owner may simply want to change the blades of their ceiling fan to change the look land feel of the fan.   Again, changing fan blades are probably the easiest thing to change on your fan.


The capacitor is the part of a ceiling fan that controls the speed and movement of the Harbor Breeze Ceiling Fan.  It can often be  replaced fairly easily.  Make sure that before buying a new capacitor, you are sure of the model number of your Harbor Breeze Ceiling Fan.  And, make sure the model number of the capacitor and the ceiling fan are compatible.


The motor, as well as the power supply, may be the part of the Harbor Breeze fan that is the most tricky to replace. Replacement would only be required if the motor fails.  Truthfully, unless yo are very handy, it may make most sense to simply replace the entire fan.   But, before doing so, check with your local Lowes store to determine if you ceiling fan is still under warranty.

Pullchain Switches

Pullchain switches are maybe the most common part of a ceiling fan that require repair, most likely due to the fact that they are the part of the fan that is most often handled.  Replacement pull chain switches are inexpensive and are not very difficult to replace.  Instructions for replacement will be included in the package.

Mounting Bracket

The mounting bracket is the part of the Harbor Breeze Ceiling Fan that holds the fan to the ceiling.  It is unlikely that you would ever have to replace this part, as it is non-moving and non-electrical.  In the event; however, that you do need to replace the mounting bracket, they are available.  Replacement is not difficult, but you will need to un-mount your existing fan and disconnect the wires, etc. to complete the job.

    Looking for a white cap to replace in place of light on fan. Do you know where I could go to find one. Lowes does not have them.

        Will have to wait until next week. I am going through a renovation. The main contractor will be back next week. Originally we thought dust had gotten inside the fan, created by removing tile on my balcony. After watching your video however, I believe there is a possibility one of the workers pulled the chain and changed the speed to slow . I didn’t think of this on my own because we never touch this chain. I genuinely hope this is what happened. I will let you know!

    Hello I have a older Harbor Breeze ceiling fan and I am down to my last bulb the bulbs are not sold in any stores anymore, I was hoping your company would still have them so I dont have to replace a perfectly good fan. If you can send me an email address that I can send an attachment to I can send pictures of the fan bulb and socket.

If your local Lowe’s store does not offer the proper bulbs, one option may be to replace your light kit, which can be purchased at Lowe’s.         Done! My ceiling fan was put back up eairler today. The first thing we did was change the speed setting by pulling the chain. After that when we put the wall-mounted speed-control on fast, the fan spun fast. Although I feel a bit bad that someone touched the chain to begin with, I am relieved that the problem is solved.Many, many thanks Joe! I would not have thought of this on my own. The power of the Internet connecting one side of the world to the other!

      Yeah Joe, Thats what I have. I put only the light on a switch becsuae I didn’t want to be walking around in dark room lookin for the remote, cause even if u got the switch on unless the remote is set to on the light will not work. Then I hooked only the fans remote reciever up to the hotside up in the JBox. I know its not up to code, becsuae if some1 gets cault in the fan, u can’t kill the fan by the switch. But there isnt no kids here so i’m not consurned

      The switched part of the plug (known as a 1/2 hot) is nolmarly on the top of the duplex receptacle, and controlled by the red wire. But make sure you break the hot tab on the receptacle so as to separate the constant hot from the switched 1/2 hot part of the plug. A red wire is also used to identify one of the traveler in a three way switch, (controlling a light fixture from two locations). +10

      You should be able to find mounting arms for your ceiling fan blades at your local Lowes store. If you cannot find the mounting arms there, another option would be the Lowes website. Keep in mind that many times you can use mounting arms that are not necessarily the Harbor Breeze brand. You would just need to be sure that the mounting holes line up with your ceiling fan, and that the mounting holes for the blades line up with your ceiling fan blades. As a last resort, you could also contact Harbor Breeze customer support at 1-800-643-0067.

    • That’s a good point. It’s important to keep your motor hoiunsg vents clean. As for your existing conditions with only one switch in your room, they have a kit where you install a remote up in the ceiling hoiunsg then it’s controled by a handheld remote that will operate your fan as well as a fan light. You would just keep your light switch on at the wall then your fan is all controlled by the hand held remote. It’s pretty cool. Thanks again for your comments. Joe :0

At that time, they were not powered by any form of electric motor.     I have an airspan 69″ fan (dual fans with light in the center). One of the blades broke. Its not a standard blade as its pretty unique to this specific fan. I am trying to buy a replacement blade, they dont have them at Lowes. I called the 1-800 number several times with no answer. How can I get another blade for this fan?

    Relocated a harbor breeze ceiling fan from room to room. Need to change out the downrod back to the 3″ that it came with , but think we may have accidentally thrown it out. Is this part available. It looks like brushed aluminum.

      You should be able to find a 3 inch down rod that matches your fan at your local Lowes store. If Lowes does not carry the downrod you need, a third party down rod should work as well. It would simply be a matter of matching the finish. You can also try the Lowes website or similar to find the part you need.

    I have a Harbor Breeze 52-in Vintage Pewter Ceiling Fan with Light Kit ceiling Fan- Model #: E-BLHII52VPW5C4S.

    I purchased from lowes less than 4 years ago, and a couple of weeks ago, one of the bulbs popped completely out of the socket. Took the socket threads with it. These were not new bulbs and no known power surges. The problem now is the piece that contains the threads within the socket to hold the light bulb in is no longer there. So no lightbulb can be replaced.

    PLEASE tell me that there is either some kind of warranty against something like this happening, and or a replacement part that exists out there. I do not want to have to purchase an entire new ceiling fan and or new light kit if at all possible.

    I need to found the part that hold the cover light, not the bulb, the glass that cover the bulb.
    my ceiling fan have four lights facing down. and one is missing the part that attach the light cover. ( I don’t know how to call this part.)
